How to connect
Foxbit, step by step.
Pick the method that suits you — both land in the same ledger. Stuck? See connecting accounts in the help centre.
- Log in to the Foxbit platform and open Profile, then API Key.
- Create an HMAC key pair, which gives a Key and a Secret. HashBooks uses this key type.
- Select only the read permission. Do not select trade, deposit or withdrawal.
- Copy the Key and the Secret when they are shown. The Secret cannot be recovered once lost.
- In HashBooks, choose Foxbit under Integrations and paste the key and secret.
- Download your trade, deposit and withdrawal history from Foxbit.
- Copy the rows into the HashBooks CSV / Excel template: date, type, what you sent and received, the fee, and any TDS.
- Upload it in HashBooks, check the preview, then confirm. Uploading the same file twice never double-counts.

Worked example
How the tax adds up.
Rewards earned on Foxbit, with the tax shown for the country you picked. The numbers are for illustration only; yours come from your own history.
Illustrative · United States
| Rewards received, at market value | $500 |
|---|---|
| Ordinary income at 22% | $110 |
| Sold later for | $650 |
| Cost basis = value when received | −$500 |
| Capital gain | $150 |
The value when received becomes the cost basis, so it isn’t taxed twice. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · United Kingdom
| Rewards received, at market value | £500 |
|---|---|
| Income at your income-tax rate | £500 |
| Sold later for | £650 |
| Cost in the pool = value when received | −£500 |
| Gain for Capital Gains Tax | £150 |
The gain counts towards your £3,000 annual exempt amount. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · India
| Rewards received | ₹40,000 |
|---|---|
| Income at your slab rate | ₹40,000 |
| Sold later for | ₹55,000 |
| Cost of acquisition = value when received | −₹40,000 |
| Gain, taxed at 30% plus cess | ₹15,000 |
| Tax on the sale | ₹4,680 |
The later sale is a separate transfer with its own 1% TDS. The full example in the help centre.
