What people use it for

ApeChain in practice.

ApeChain is the ApeCoin ecosystem chain hosting games such as Otherside, Ape-branded IP projects and DeFi apps.

  • Swaps and transfers across the apps on the chain
  • Bridging in and out from Ethereum and other networks
  • Gas paid on every transaction

How to connect

ApeChain, step by step.

It takes a couple of minutes. Stuck? See connecting accounts in the help centre.

  1. Copy your public ApeChain address (starts with 0x) — never your seed phrase or private key.
  2. In HashBooks, add a wallet and paste the address.
  3. HashBooks reads the full on-chain history for that address and classifies every transfer.

Good to know

ApeChain specifics.

  • Your ApeChain address is the same 0x address you use on Ethereum and other EVM networks, but ApeChain keeps its own history: add the address for ApeChain to bring that history in.
  • Gas on ApeChain is paid in APE (ApeCoin). Every fee spends a little APE, and HashBooks records each one at its value on the day.
  • ApeChain uses APE as its native gas token.
  • ApeChain is described as an Arbitrum Orbit chain.
  • Apescan (apescan.io) is named as the primary block explorer for ApeChain. Blockscout and OKX explorers are also listed.

Questions

ApeChain, answered.

Is bridging to ApeChain taxable?

Moving your own crypto to ApeChain through a bridge is generally not a sale, because you still own it. Watch for bridges that swap the token on the way: receiving a different asset can be a disposal. HashBooks matches the two sides when both addresses are connected.

Are ApeChain gas fees tax deductible?

It depends on your country. In the US and UK a fee paid on a trade usually becomes part of its cost or reduces proceeds; in India only the cost of acquisition is deductible. HashBooks applies the rule for the country you file in.

Which HashBooks plan do I need for ApeChain?

Connecting ApeChain and seeing an estimated tax summary is free for up to 100 transactions across 3 connections. Filing reports for your country start on the Starter plan; see pricing.

Can HashBooks move anything from my ApeChain address?

No. A public address shows history but can’t sign anything, and HashBooks never asks for a recovery phrase or private key. It reads; it can’t trade, withdraw or transfer.
