Good to know
Delta Exchange specifics.
- Delta Exchange’s API doesn’t return your deposits and withdrawals. Add them from a statement if they matter for your cost basis.
- Delta Exchange’s ledger comes across too, so rewards, interest and other credits paid into the account are recorded as income on the day they arrive.
- Keys are created from the profile icon in the header, then API Keys. The article describes Trading permissions and an IP whitelist field.
- Requests sent from an IP address that is not on the whitelist are rejected with an ip_blocked error.
- The secret is displayed only once and cannot be retrieved later.
- Delta Exchange offers spot, perpetual swaps and options. Closed positions and funding payments are imported alongside spot trades, so the report shows your whole result on the platform.

Questions
Delta Exchange, answered.
Does Delta Exchange report my trades to the tax office?
Reporting depends on where Delta Exchange is regulated and where you live, so don’t rely on it. Your return has to include every sale and swap across all your platforms, which is what HashBooks brings together.
How are Delta Exchange futures and perpetuals taxed?
Closing a position realises a gain or loss, and funding you pay or receive adds to or reduces your result. HashBooks imports both from Delta Exchange and reports them under your country’s rules; the tax section above shows how your country treats them.
Does HashBooks need trading permission on Delta Exchange?
No. Create the Delta Exchange key with read access only and leave trading and withdrawals off. HashBooks has no code that can trade or withdraw, and the key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted when you disconnect.
How do I get my Delta Exchange transaction history for taxes?
Connect Delta Exchange with a read-only API key and HashBooks pulls the history for you. You can also export a statement from Delta Exchange and upload it with the HashBooks template.
Which HashBooks plan do I need for Delta Exchange?
Connecting Delta Exchange and seeing an estimated tax summary is free for up to 100 transactions across 3 connections. Filing reports for your country start on the Starter plan; see pricing.
Can HashBooks trade or withdraw on Delta Exchange?
No. The key you create is view-only, and HashBooks contains no code that can trade, withdraw or transfer. It’s encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted the moment you remove Delta Exchange.
