How to connect
Bring LBank in.
Pick the method that suits you — both land in the same ledger. Stuck? See connecting accounts in the help centre.
- Log in to LBank and open the API management page at https://www.lbank.com/my/api-management/.
- Click Apply [API Key].
- Assign permissions to the new key. The permission types are transaction, read-only and withdrawal. For a read-only key, keep only the read-only type and leave transaction and withdrawal off.
- Copy the Secret Key when it is shown. LBank says it is only visible when you apply.
- In HashBooks, choose LBank under Integrations and paste the key and secret.
- Download your trade, deposit and withdrawal history from LBank.
- Copy the rows into the HashBooks CSV / Excel template: date, type, what you sent and received, the fee, and any TDS.
- Upload it in HashBooks, check the preview, then confirm. Uploading the same file twice never double-counts.

Worked example
One example, line by line.
A typical LBank sale, with the tax shown for the country you picked. The numbers are for illustration only; yours come from your own history.
Illustrative · United States
| Proceeds | $3,500 |
|---|---|
| Cost basis (FIFO) | −$2,000 |
| Long-term gain | $1,500 |
| Tax at the 15% long-term rate | $225 |
Held a year or less, the same gain would be taxed at your ordinary rate, for example 22%: $330. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · United Kingdom
| Net gain | £20,000 |
|---|---|
| Less the annual exempt amount | −£3,000 |
| Taxable gain | £17,000 |
| £10,270 in the basic-rate band × 18% | £1,848.60 |
| Remaining £6,730 × 24% | £1,615.20 |
| Capital Gains Tax | £3,463.80 |
Your salary decides how much of the gain falls in the 18% band. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · India
| Sale value | ₹1,50,000 |
|---|---|
| Cost of acquisition | −₹1,00,000 |
| Gain (the ₹500 fee isn’t deductible) | ₹50,000 |
| Tax at 30% | ₹15,000 |
| Cess at 4% | ₹600 |
| Total tax | ₹15,600 |
| Less 1% TDS already deducted | −₹1,500 |
| Balance at filing | ₹14,100 |
A loss on another coin wouldn’t reduce this: VDA losses can’t be set off. The full example in the help centre.

Questions
LBank, answered.
Does LBank report my trades to the tax office?
Reporting depends on where LBank is regulated and where you live, so don’t rely on it. Your return has to include every sale and swap across all your platforms, which is what HashBooks brings together.

How do I get my LBank transaction history for taxes?
Connect LBank with a read-only API key and HashBooks pulls the history for you. You can also export a statement from LBank and upload it with the HashBooks template.
Which HashBooks plan do I need for LBank?
Connecting LBank and seeing an estimated tax summary is free for up to 100 transactions across 3 connections. Filing reports for your country start on the Starter plan; see pricing.
Can HashBooks trade or withdraw on LBank?
No. The key you create is view-only, and HashBooks contains no code that can trade, withdraw or transfer. It’s encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted the moment you remove LBank.
