How to connect
Connect Cryptomus in a few minutes.
It takes a couple of minutes. Stuck? See connecting accounts in the help centre.
- Download your trade, deposit and withdrawal history from Cryptomus.
- Copy the rows into the HashBooks CSV / Excel template: date, type, what you sent and received, the fee, and any TDS.
- Upload it in HashBooks, check the preview, then confirm. Uploading the same file twice never double-counts.
Good to know
Cryptomus specifics.
- Cryptomus’s API needs an account ID or user ID as well as a key and secret, and HashBooks’ connection takes the key and secret only. A file upload gives HashBooks the same history without it.
- Payments and payouts need different API keys. The docs say you need to release a different API key for accepting payment and making payouts.
- User API keys are generated from the Settings section of your personal account, after enabling two-factor authentication, under User API key.

Worked example
One example, line by line.
A typical Cryptomus sale, as your tax office would treat it. These are example figures, not yours; HashBooks uses your own history for those.
Illustrative · United States
| Proceeds | $3,500 |
|---|---|
| Cost basis (FIFO) | −$2,000 |
| Long-term gain | $1,500 |
| Tax at the 15% long-term rate | $225 |
Held a year or less, the same gain would be taxed at your ordinary rate, for example 22%: $330. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · United Kingdom
| Net gain | £20,000 |
|---|---|
| Less the annual exempt amount | −£3,000 |
| Taxable gain | £17,000 |
| £10,270 in the basic-rate band × 18% | £1,848.60 |
| Remaining £6,730 × 24% | £1,615.20 |
| Capital Gains Tax | £3,463.80 |
Your salary decides how much of the gain falls in the 18% band. The full example in the help centre.
Illustrative · India
| Sale value | ₹1,50,000 |
|---|---|
| Cost of acquisition | −₹1,00,000 |
| Gain (the ₹500 fee isn’t deductible) | ₹50,000 |
| Tax at 30% | ₹15,000 |
| Cess at 4% | ₹600 |
| Total tax | ₹15,600 |
| Less 1% TDS already deducted | −₹1,500 |
| Balance at filing | ₹14,100 |
A loss on another coin wouldn’t reduce this: VDA losses can’t be set off. The full example in the help centre.

Questions
Cryptomus, answered.
Does Cryptomus report my trades to the tax office?
Reporting depends on where Cryptomus is regulated and where you live, so don’t rely on it. Your return has to include every sale and swap across all your platforms, which is what HashBooks brings together.
Can I connect Cryptomus by API?
Not today. Cryptomus’s API needs an account ID or user ID as well as a key and secret, and HashBooks’ connection takes the key and secret only. Download your history and upload it with the HashBooks template instead; when the connection becomes possible, the same ledger simply carries on.
How do I get my Cryptomus transaction history for taxes?
Download your trade, deposit and withdrawal history from Cryptomus and upload it to HashBooks with the CSV / Excel template. You see a preview before anything is saved.
Which HashBooks plan do I need for Cryptomus?
Connecting Cryptomus and seeing an estimated tax summary is free for up to 100 transactions across 3 connections. Filing reports for your country start on the Starter plan; see pricing.
Does HashBooks connect to my Cryptomus account?
No. With a file upload there’s no key, password or link to Cryptomus at all: HashBooks reads the rows you upload and nothing else.
