Questions

bitFlyer, answered.

Does bitFlyer report my trades to the tax office?

Reporting depends on where bitFlyer is regulated and where you live, so don’t rely on it. Your return has to include every sale and swap across all your platforms, which is what HashBooks brings together.

Does HashBooks need trading permission on bitFlyer?

No. Create the bitFlyer key with read access only and leave trading and withdrawals off. HashBooks has no code that can trade or withdraw, and the key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted when you disconnect.

How do I get my bitFlyer transaction history for taxes?

Connect bitFlyer with a read-only API key and HashBooks pulls the history for you. You can also export a statement from bitFlyer and upload it with the HashBooks template.

Which HashBooks plan do I need for bitFlyer?

Connecting bitFlyer and seeing an estimated tax summary is free for up to 100 transactions across 3 connections. Filing reports for your country start on the Starter plan; see pricing.

Can HashBooks trade or withdraw on bitFlyer?

No. The key you create is view-only, and HashBooks contains no code that can trade, withdraw or transfer. It’s encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted the moment you remove bitFlyer.
