Exchanges for UK and EU customers · 13 guides
UK and EU exchanges, one ledger.
UK and EU users often hold accounts on more than one regulated exchange. HashBooks reads each one into a single ledger and applies HMRC, German or Irish rules to the whole of it.

OpenQuestions
Exchanges for UK and EU customers, answered.
Do UK and EU exchanges report to the tax office?
Under the Cryptoasset Reporting Framework, UK providers collect data from 1 January 2026 and file their first reports to HMRC by 31 May 2027 (GOV.UK); the EU’s DAC8 applies from 1 January 2026 (European Commission). Your return still has to include every platform you use.
Which rules does HashBooks apply?
The rules for the country you file in: HMRC share matching for the UK, the 12-month rule for Germany, the four-week rule for Ireland, and so on.
Can HashBooks move or spend my crypto?
No. It reads data and nothing else — the product contains no code that can trade, withdraw or transfer. We never ask for a seed phrase, a private key or your exchange password. API keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and deleted the moment you remove the connection.
